Ingredient Standards

South Shore Scents Co. products are made with high-quality, clean ingredients that meet strict safety standards. Many customers with fragrance sensitivities — including those prone to headaches or migraines — have shared that our candles are gentle enough for them to enjoy. Everything is cruelty-free and pet-friendly.

Our wax, fragrance oils, wicks, diffuser bases, and room spray base are carefully selected to meet strict ingredient standards. Our products are free of phthalates, Prop 65 listed ingredients, carcinogens, mutagens, reproductive toxins, organ toxins, acute toxins, antimicrobials, animal derivatives, BBP, DEHP, DBP, DEP, and other harmful additives commonly used in the fragrance industry.

Our wicks are lead free and zinc free. Our diffuser base is biodegradable, phthalate free, and VOC compliant.

Our room and linen sprays use an Ethoxydiglycol base designed to safely disperse fragrance while keeping the scent light and clean in your space.

Every product is crafted with clean ingredients from start to finish.

Candle Care & Safety Tips

• Trim wick to 1/4" before each burnfor a clean, even flame.
• Let your candle burn to the edges on the first burn(about 4 hours) to prevent tunneling.
• Never burn longer than 4 hours at a timeand never burn when only 1/2" of wax remains.
• Keep candles on a heat-safe surfaceand away from drafts, vents, kids, and pets.
• Never leave a burning candle unattendedand avoid moving it while lit or hot.
• Use a snuffer to extinguish—never water.
• Allow wax to cool completely before touching or moving.
