All fragrance oils are phthalate-free and formulated in accordance with current IFRA safety standards.

Materials & Ingredients

Wax

We use 100% soy wax made from American-grown soybeans — a renewable resource. We do not use paraffin wax, which is derived from petroleum. Soy wax offers a cleaner burn and supports a more sustainable agricultural supply chain.

Fragrance

Our scents are crafted using high-quality fragrance oils that are both safe and thoughtfully sourced. All fragrance oils are phthalate-free and IFRA compliant. While some natural essential oils can be beautiful, they often require significant raw material to produce. We take a balanced approach — choosing ingredients that prioritize safety, performance, and environmental responsibility.

Wicks

We use cotton wicks primed with vegetable-based materials. We do not use lead-core, zinc-core, or petroleum-based wicks.

Vessels & Packaging

Our glass vessels are fully recyclable once cleaned and can also be repurposed — from planters to desk storage to everyday catch-alls. All outer packaging is paper-based and recyclable. We encourage reuse whenever possible.

Shipping

We do not use plastic when shipping our products. Orders are packed in recyclable cardboard boxes using paper-based protective materials and biodegradable packing peanuts made from plant starch. These dissolve in water and break down naturally. Thoughtful packing helps reduce unnecessary waste while ensuring your order arrives safely.

Our Commitment

Sustainability is not a trend — it’s an ongoing process. As South Shore Scents Co. grows, we continue to evaluate materials, packaging, and partners to make responsible improvements wherever possible. Small steps. Intentionally taken.
